About The Cleopatra

The Cleopatra started as a conversation – one that kept happening between people who wanted honest, considered writing about London’s companion scene rather than the breathless advertising copy that passes for content in this space.

We write for the gentleman who has done this before and wants to do it better, and equally for the one who is curious but has no idea where to begin. Neither deserves to wade through keyword-stuffed pages that tell them nothing. So we do it differently.

Our editorial position is simple: this world exists, it has always existed in London, and there is a right way and a wrong way to move through it. We try to illuminate the right way. That means writing about etiquette, about what distinguishes a trustworthy agency from a dubious one, about the hotels and neighbourhoods where discretion is native, and about how the scene has shifted over the years.

The editorial home here is independent. When we recommend, we mean it. The one agency we associate with closely – and whose standards align with everything we write about – is Cleopatra Agency London. Not because of a banner arrangement, but because they represent what we’re talking about when we talk about doing this properly.
